Who is Antiman?

The Japanese are often referred to as being “Ant like” due to their high degree of diligence.

“Anti” (as his friends like to call him) is like a Buddhist Deity: Fierce on the outside but emotional and compassionate on the inside.

HE LIKES TO SURF, SNOW AND SKATE!

His name means “Selfless Character.” At the core of his being is “Mu” which means “emptiness”, “Selflessness” or the non-existence of self. This is the source of Japans cultural character. One must grasp the essence of this Zen concept in order to understand the Japanese.

Antiman is the key mascot for Modelstix, because he is small and fits with the mini boards that Ratty makes. Antiman is also a Pro Surfer/ Snowboarder for Model Stix. Now he practices Buddhism but in the past he was a Certifiable Party Animal. Everyone loves Antiman, he is the “Jekyll & Hyde” of the surfing world!

Antiman got his name due to the fact that in many ways he goes “against the nature of man”. For example where man destroys nature, Antiman preserves it, where man is greedy and selfish, Antiman is generous and compassionate. In other words he is anti-man, or opposite man because he acts “Opposite the Self” which makes him “Selfless.”

「アンティ」（愛称）は仏教の神の様な存在で、悪どいな見た目とは裏腹に人々に寄り添う内面を持ち備えています。

アンティはサーフ、スノー、スケートが全て好き！

名前の意味は「他人のために尽くす」

アンティマンはロブが作るミニチュアボードにぴったりなサイズ感で、モデルスティックスのマスコットキャラクターです。更に彼はプロサーファー/スノーボーダーでもあります。現在仏教の修行していますが、かつては絶対的なパーティアニマルとして街に繰り出していました。誰からも愛されるアンティマン。彼はまさにサーフィン界の「ジキル＆ハイド」！

アンティマンは、多くの点で「人間の性質に逆らって」行くという観点から名付けられました。例えば、人が自然を破壊する行為を見つけたら、アンティマンはその自然を保護しようと尽力し、ある人が貪欲で利己的に振る舞う場面に出くわしたら、アンティマンは寛大さと思いやりを表現します。自身を犠牲にして他人に尽くす、それがアンティマンなのです。
